Personal Training Certification School Educational Requirements

What Personal Training Certification School Is The Best?

Personal training certification school - where to look?

With so many personal fitness training certification school options, how are you to know which personal training school is the best for you and for your career?

Almost any quality personal training certification school will require you to have certain levels of prior education. Here we'll cover some of the knowledge you should have before you apply at any good personal training school.

Becoming a personal trainer today is more involved than it used to be. In the early days of personal training you didn't need any "real" personal training certification. In fact, if you knew how to lift weights and had a muscular body, you'd get a fitness training job in no-time at all.

However, with so many options for choosing a personal training certification school you'd think that every one of them would be a great personal training school to apply too. Unfortunately, this isn't always the case.

Not every personal training certification school takes the proper care in choosing the best applicants and others are too quick to rush people through their courses and not provide the proper training and education.

The end result is thousands of personal trainers who simply should not be doing any personal training at all.

All good personal trainers must have a wide variety of skills, in-depth knowledge of all aspects of fitness training and the education required to get all types of clients the results they want in a safe and timely manner.

As a personal trainer you must learn more than the basics. Below are some of the better educational requirements you need if you are to become a personal trainer that can excel in the personal training industry.

"Basic Educational Requirements For Any Personal Training Certification School"

The only way you can make it as a respected and successful personal trainer is if you have taken a number of advanced fitness training courses. Just knowing the basics will not take you very far in the personal training business.

The personal training certification school you choose should have advanced fitness training courses that you can take after you have successfully completed the basic course.

Your personal training certification school may require that you have anywhere between one to three years of practical experience before you can apply for an advanced personal training course.

Also make sure keep your first aid and CPR certificates up-to-date and have in-depth knowledge and experience in both cardiovascular and weight training.

Now let's review some more advanced subjects that you should be aware of before you apply to any personal training certification school.

Advanced Personal Training Certification School Requirement #1: Human Anatomy.

Complete knowledge in human anatomy is something that cannot be overstated. You must know the different parts of the body and what each of those parts is for.

Having the proper knowledge about human anatomy will ensure that you know the different muscle groups and how they work. In addition, you'll know about the internal organs and how they work.

Knowing the facts about the cardiovascular, respiratory, and nervous systems are also extremely important as they are all affected by fitness training.

Advanced Personal Fitness Training Certification School Requirement #2: Physiology.

While the study of human anatomy will give you the knowledge as to what each body part does, the study of Physiology will educate you on how each individual body part works together with the others.

Understanding Physiology will enable you to know how individual fitness training exercises affect the working muscles and show you the impact of individual fitness training exercises on various systems of the body.

This is very important because you will inevitably have clients who have different types of health problems, such as kidney problems, heart problems, and much more.

In these cases you have to know what fitness training exercises you can and can not use. Using the wrong ones or not understanding physiology can lead to a dangerous situation for your clients.

Advanced Personal Fitness Training Certification School Requirement #3: Kinesiology.

Kinesiology in short is the study of how the human body moves and the impact movement has on the body.

Kinesiology includes human anatomy, physiology, etc. and applies this knowledge to physical therapy, massage therapy, and other areas of physical health.

You need to apply Kinesiology to your fitness training methods so that you can have an accurate analysis of the impact of a certain fitness training exercise on the human body.

This area of fitness training study will give you knowledge to show your personal training clients how to properly perform all movements in the safest and most effective manner.

Advanced Personal Fitness Training Certification School Requirement #4: Pathology.

Pathology isn't as necessary as the above mentioned areas of fitness training and you probably won't come across a personal training certification school that would require it.

But, it's a good area of study for personal trainers. Basically, Pathology is the study of damaged body cells and their effects on disease. For fitness training purposes, it will give you the knowledge to notice the effects of physical injuries on body tissue.

Advanced Personal Fitness Training Certification School Requirement #5: Diet and Nutrition.

Obviously this has applications in fitness training for both general and sports training. Food is the bodys main fuel source. You have to be able to understand what foods are not only healthy for your clients but what foods are important for your clients goals.

Certain foods can put your client at a disadvantage while others can improve their performance. You have to be able to distinguish between them.
